Fraud Alert

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) wishes to alert the public regarding fraudulent activities that have been carried out using the IOM brand or the name of its representatives.  

IOM does not offer legal services for individual migration processes, nor does it charge money for these. Humanitarian assistance services offered by IOM are free. 

Please keep in mind that:  

  • All humanitarian assistance services provided by IOM, including other services offered within the framework of its projects are FREE. 

  • IOM does not charge registration fees for conferences, meetings, or humanitarian assistance processes. 

  • IOM does not ask for money to carry out procurement or hiring processes. 

  • IOM does not reach out by email, text messages, mail or telefax to offer prizes, rewards, or grants. 

  • IOM does not retain documents of any kind. 

  • All IOM personnel or representative shall be duly identified with his or her official ID card or have an official letter. 

 

To anyone who receives requests such as the ones mentioned above, IOM recommends to take the necessary security measures and inform the competent local authorities (Public Prosecutor’s Office) of suspected fraud.
