The IOM Office in Panama carries out its functions under the strategic and operational guidance of the IOM Regional Office for the Americas, based in Panama City.

The IOM Office in Panama implements critical projects related to saving lives and protecting people on the move, driving solutions to displacement, and facilitating regular migration pathways. IOM Panama supports the Government of Panama in terms of migration management, integration, strengthening the capacities of emergency response institutions and interaction with the agencies of the United Nations System, with the purpose of addressing migration in a safe, orderly and dignified manner.

IOM Panama is a Country Office with Coordinating Functions, namely coordinating functions with IOM Cuba.

Furthermore, IOM has one of its two Administrative Centres in Panama. Since its inauguration in 2007, its offices are located in Clayton, and it is part of the community of users of the City of Knowledge.
